Struggling to know what to get people for Christmas? This year, give the gift of experience! So many people don’t need more “stuff.” Give them something that they will remember, rather than another knick knack to just sit on the shelf, a movie that they’ll watch once, or a toy that will lose its awe after a week. Studies have shown that material possessions do not equal happiness; experiences are much more fulfilling than things. Here are a few ideas of experiences to give this year: a museum pass, a trip to the aquarium, orchestra or concert ticket, kayaking or fishing trip, whale watch, sky diving, tickets to a sporting event, horseback riding, sled dog tour, lobstering, scenic flight, trip to see a relative or friend that lives away, ski pass, ropes or zip line course, white water rafting, moose watching tour, saltwater fishing trip, or skydiving. Bob Duchesne said "Get creative this holiday season and give a real Maine experience instead of more stuff." Check out more of his thoughts on "The Gift of Experience" here.
